Sparta Rotterdam Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is the fourth best goalkeeper in the Dutch Eredivisie base on the amount of shots saved.
According to Wyscout, the 21 year old is the 4th most effective shot stopper when it comes to preventing goals per save. A remarkable statistic when one consider the fact that two of the goalkeepers rated above him face less shots.
Yesterday he improved on his clean sheets count with another one in their 1-0 win away to Fortuna Sittard. His fourth clean sheet in ten games where he has conceded 12 times.
His form has also helped him snatch the number one spot of the senior national team of Nigeria. A phenomenal rise when one consider that he was 4th choice around this time last year and playing in the German 4th division for the B team of Fortuna Düsseldorf.
His deal which at Sparta Rotterdam is supposed to run till the summer of 2022 but the club is considering triggering the clause of extending his deal by another two years as agreed when he joined them on a free transfer in the summer.
