The senior national team of Nigeria continue their free fall in the monthly FIFA rankings by dropping two spots to 42nd in the world in the latest placements made available by the world football governing body.

Back to back 1-1 draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe respectively in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers proved costly as it saw them lose 16.04 points leaving them with 1474.44 points, which is less than last month’s tally of 1490.48 for the October rankings.

However they still remained sixth on the continent behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt respectively as the date for this start of the Africa Cup of Nations draws near.

Super Eagles have already secured a camp site for next month tournament according to the head of media and communication of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ademola Olajire. ” Super Eagles camping details are not out yet but they will camp in the UAE”, he said.

Nigeria is in the same group with the host Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau. They will open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea according to the fixtures released by Africa’s football governing body CAF.
