The contract of the captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa has been terminated by Turkish side Sivasspor, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Musa who led Nigeria to a second spot finish at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations joined the club on a free transfer in 2022 on a two year deal after the mutual termination of his contract at fellow Turkish side Fatih Karagümrük.
Sivasspor announced that his contract has been terminated for low productivity after scoring just once in two seasons at the club. This season he has only played in two games totaling 73 minutes in the league.
He played the same amount of games in the Cup, but with a goal to his name. He has since left the city for Nigeria where he is expected to take a decision on his next career move. The 31 year old didn’t play a single minute for the senior national team of Nigeria at the AFCON.
