There was pandemonium in Akure Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Monday April 10 after a suspected yahoo boy crushed at least two people to death with his car.

According to reports, the young man, identified as Temitope Oluwaseun Olorunfemi aka Newcash, was driving recklessly along Ijomimo junction, Ijoka Road, when he knocked down the victims who died on the spot.

Following the incident, angry youths in the community unleashed venom on the suspected fraudster, stoned him to death and incinerated his car in a fit of rage.

A source who spoke anonymously said,

“The yahoo boy was driving a Toyota car along the road and suddenly skidded off his lane to crush the victims who were on commercial motorcycles.”

Immediately the accident happened, some sympathizers rushed to the scene and accosted him. They found some fetish items including a live tortoise, a snail, a little casket, and some used panties in his car. The irate residents interrogated him and he confessed that he was ordered by his spiritualist to kill at least 16 people in order to become wealthy.

The revelation infuriated the eyewitnesses who burnt his car and beat him till he passed out. They rushed all the dead victims to the mortuary and left him to rot in the gutter.”

Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports about the incident, with some claiming that it was an accident and that he was forced into making a false confession.
