Transfer: Chelsea legend speaks on Aubameyang leaving Stamford Bridge for new club

Chelsea legend, Pat Nevin, has insisted that manager Graham Potter would not want striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave the club this January transfer window.

Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this month.

The former Arsenal captain, who joined the Blues from Barcelona last summer, has been linked with a return to the Catalan club.

Asked about the possibility of the Gabonese star leaving Chelsea this January, Nevin told Metro UK: “He’s not exactly what Graham Potter wants or needs. That is not his style. Short-term, I thought he might get ten goals.

“I’m not massively surprised it has not worked out, but could you use him for the rest of the season as an impact player? Possibly, if his attitude’s perfect.”
