Transfer: Ligue 1 club Lens table £8m bid for Akpom

Ligue 1 club, Lens have expressed interest in signing Middlesbrough forward, Chuba Akpom.

According to football daily, the former Ligue 1 champions have submitted a bid in the region of £8m for the striker.

Akpom has one-year left on his contract and seems not ready to sign a contract extension at Middlesbrough.

Boro need to cash in now or risk losing him on a free next summer.

The Nigerian-born forward was top scorer in the Championship last season with 28 goals.

Southampton, Leeds United and Everton all shown interest in him during the January transfer window.
