Former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards, has labelled Chelsea’s summer signings, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, as the Premier League’s two biggest ‘flops’ this season.

Chelsea signed Werner and Havertz last summer transfer window from RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.

Both Germany players have struggled in their first seasons at Chelsea, with Havertz scoring just one Premier League goal so far and Werner netting just twice for Thomas Tuchel’s side since November 7.

Asked who have been the biggest flops in the Premier League this season, Richards told MailSport: “Sadly, it’s a toss-up between two Chelsea players – Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

“I could not have been more complimentary about Werner when he signed last summer, and I was expecting massive things from him after watching him for RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

“It just hasn’t happened for him, but the same is also true of Havertz. I hope both of them learn from this difficult season and come back to show their true potential.”

Werner and Havertz will hope to feature for Chelsea when they host West Brom on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
