UNICAL Professor Abducted By Gunmen At The University Of Calabar

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, Professor Patrick Egaga, the Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar, has been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.

The professor, renowned for his contributions to the Department of Special Education, was taken from his residence in the staff quarters on Sunday night, November 12, 2023.

Reports indicate that the abductors gained access to the staff quarters through the waterways before seizing Prof. Egaga.

Confirming the incident, SP Irene Ugbo, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, assured the public that efforts are being placed to secure the safe release of Prof. Egaga.

Effiong Eyo, the Public Relations Officer of the university, also acknowledged the distressing event and assured the public that rescue operations are in progress.
