Dakkada Football Club assured its supporters that it would return strongly to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Uyo club was relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) following a 1-1 home draw against Lobi Stars last weekend.

“We really appreciate the time you spent for our sake. It didn’t go as planned. We are sincerely sorry. We will be back stronger. Thank you for your encouragement and support. We love you,” the club said in a statement.

Dakkada had a short stay in the NPFL following its promotion to the top flight in the 2019–20 season.

Nasarawa United and El-Kanemi Warriors have also been relegated to the NNL.
