Wikki Tourists has commenced an investigation of their players allegedly involved in a match-fixing and betting scandal.

Some of the players were accused of match-fixing and betting for selfish reasons.

The development has led to frustration among the club’s hierarchy and the supporters.

“The players involved have really frustrated the efforts of the team and the management in all the matches of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” the club chairman, Balarabe Douglas, said.

The Bauchi Elephants occupy the bottom spot on the Group B table.

Wikki Tourists will host Abia Warriors in their next NPFL game on Sunday.
