Chelsea won the Champions League on Saturday night after an exceptional transformation under Thomas Tuchel who took charge of the team in January.
However, the Blues started the Champions League campaign with Frank Lampard in the dugout – and they actually topped their group.
So, it’s a logical question that comes from Gavan Reilly on Twitter: ‘Does Frank Lampard get a medal?’
Well, here is a direct quote from the Regulations of the UEFA Champions League, article 11, paragraph 11.03:
“The winning team is presented with 40 gold medals and the runner-up with 40 silver medals. Additional medals may not be produced.”

This season, 24 players featured in the competition – they are surely eligible for a medal, along with Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff.
Still, there are plenty of medals left up for grabs, and the club will be in charge of distributing them – but surely, Frank Lampard has every chance to get a medal for his efforts.
