Zamfara United head coach Alhassan Mohammed said he hopes for continued improvement in the Nigeria National League.

Mohammed’s side lost 1-0 to Nasarawa United in the opening fixture of the 2023/24 NNL season.

Aminu Abubakar got the lone goal in the first half of the Lafia City Stadium encounter.

Mohammed commended his players despite the defeat.

“I think there is an improvement in the Nigeria National League, I wish this could continue going forward,” he stated in a post-match chat.

“We came here to win, but we lost, there is no problem because it was a great game.

“Generally my boys did very well we will shift focus to the next game.”

Other NNL matchday one fixtures will be played on November 18 at different venues.
