Championship stars Ivan Toney and Max Aarons will reject any approaches to represent Jamaica because they believe they can achieve England call-ups, Sportsmail can reveal.

Toney and Aarons have been two of the standout players in the Championship this season and have been key figures in Brentford and Norwich’s promotion pushes.

Sportsmail reported on Wednesday that Jamaica were plotting an audacious move to try and persuade 15 English stars to switch their international allegiance

Toney and Aarons are two players they would be keen to call up, but Sportsmail understands that Jamaica are now not pursuing them with both players determined to break into the England fold.

Both Toney and Aarons, who were born in England, have not played a competitive match for the Three Lions at senior level, meaning they would still be eligible to play for Jamaica because of family ties to the country.

Norwich defender Aarons, 21, has been a regular starter for England Under 21s since 2019 but will face stiff competition to get into Gareth Southgate’s squad ahead of this summer’s Euro 2020 finals, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Kieran Trippier currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
