187 Nigerian Returnees Arrive In Lagos

Some Nigerians who fled South Africa over the xenophobic attack on foreigners by South African national have arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos last night .

The Cable reports that the returnees were at the airport at 9.35 pm on Wednesday, September 11, on-board an Air Peace flight.
Speaking on their return, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who led some Nigerian officials received the returnees at the airport. Dabiri-Erewa said a total of 187 Nigerians were evacuated from South Africa as at Wednesday, September 11.

Also, officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were on ground as the flight touched down the tarmac.

Some of the returnees who spoke to journalist upon their arrival condemned the ongoing attack on foreigners by the people of South Africa.
