Belgium top division side Union Saint-Gilloise have opened discussion with German Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen for the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.

Boniface caught the attention of top teams in Europe after an astonishing debut season in Belgium where he found the back of the net 22 times and also picked up 12 assists. He was joint top scorer in the Europa League with Marcus Rashford of Manchester United on six goals each.

His form placed him on the radar of lot of teams in Europe but in a week where he has been heavily linked with a move to Everton, German Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen are the only team to have backed their interest with a formal bid.

Rated in the bracket of €20m just a year after his move from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, the 22 year old has already given his consent to the move which will see him join the team he scored against in the quarter final of the Europa League last season.

It is believed that Leverkusen will use part of the money they will make from the possible departure of Moussa Diaby to Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr to fund the move for the Nigerian. Diaby is also a subject of interest to Aston Villa and Arsenal but Al Nassr so far have offered him the most in personal terms.
