To that extent, a total of 35 players have been sent provisional invitation in a bid to beat the 15 days deadline set by FIFA for clubs to be notified about the invitation of their players for international duty. 23 players will make the final list. Ten of those players already confirmed to OwnGoalNigeria.com that they have gotten their letter of invitation .

Among the ten players were three new players, who have been called up in the midfield, defence and attack. We will however not reveal their identity as requested and agreed with them.

Going into the game, the future of the coach of the team Jose Peseiro is still unresolved with his contract yet to be extended following it’s expiration. The list of players was put together by the technical department of the NFF led by Austine Eguavoen.
