AFCON 2023: Three Super Eagles players escape suspension for Ivory Coast final

At least three players in the Super Eagles squad have escaped being suspended for the Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast.

They are Moses Simon, Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey.

The trio were walking a disciplinary tightrope for their semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday.

However, Simon, Bassey and Aina were not booked and will be available for Sunday’s final.

Bassey and Aina have, especially been in impressive forms for Nigeria at the tournament.

There was also a big injury boost for Jose Peseiro, as Zaidu Sanusi took part in light training on Thursday.
