There is pandemonium in the camp of the U17 team of Nigeria after 75% of the 120 players picked from two weeks screening exercise failed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test done to curb the menace of age cheats.

Led by coach Nduka Ugbade, the crew are having a tough time handling the news as most of the players who failed the test are players they have been working closely with the past few weeks.

The players were the ones who have been playing all of the team’s test games ahead of the WAFU U17 tournament in one month time. It means they will now start another round of screening which will last a week leaving them with just three weeks or less to prepare for the tournament.

” We will start another round of screening immediately. The scan results knocked out 75% of the team. Most of them regulars. To be honest it has set us back and we are now in a race against time to be ready for the tournament”, a member of the backroom staff told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
