Akwa United have embarked on a 10-day camping exercise ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Thirty-seven players and the technical crew of the Promise Keepers travelled out of Uyo for the rigorous camping exercise on Sunday.

Fatai Osho’s tutored side has adopted the Eket Township Stadium as their base for the camping.

Akwa United are without a win in their last three friendlies.

The former NPFL champions have drawn once and lost twice.

The camping exercise is aimed at introducing the players to different training programmes before the commencement of the new season.

The new NPFL season will kick off on September 8.
