Angry youths set late Hanifa’s school ablaze after she was abducted and killed by her proprietor

Angry youths have razed the school 5-year-old pupil, Hanifa Abubakar, was attending before she was abducted and killed by her proprietor, Abdulmalik Tanko.

Hanifa, a student of Noble Kids School in Kano, was kidnapped on December 2 by Tanko, who killed her with rat poison after receiving 6 million naira ransom from her parents and buried her in a shallow grave.

Her corpse was discovered and exhumed recently from where Tanko buried her. Following subsequent investigation and interrogation, Tanko confessed to the crime and is currently in police custody.

In a new development, aggrieved locals have set the school located at Kwanar Dakata in Nassarawa local government area of Kano, on fire.

According to the Kano State police spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa, the building was set ablaze in the middle of the night but no suspect has been arrested yet.

Reports have it that Tanko is not the owner of the building and he only rented it to run his school.

Meanwhile, Kano State Government has on Friday, January 21, ordered the immediate closure of the private school, and locals have been urged to desist from taking laws into their hands.
