Nigeria U20 coach Ladan Bosso has been forced into making a late change to his squad for the WAFU B Championship which begins today, OwnGoalNigeria.comcan exclusively reveal.

Bosso returned back to Niger Republic yesterday after attending the burial of his mother in Nigeria. He was expected to travel in the company of Nasarawa United forward Aliyu Adam.

Aliyu didn’t travel with the 30 man squad as his passport application wasn’t processed as at the time the team flew out of Nigeria. He was expected to join them in Niger Republic.

Seen as the livewire of the team, Aliyu’s application was lacking a document which he couldn’t get on time due to the long holiday in Nigeria. His international passport is now expected to be out by next week.

The proposed date for the issuance of his passport left the coach with no option than to replace his most potent striker during the course of their camping in Abuja ahead of the tournament.

They will play their first group game against Ghana tomorrow. A win will put them in a comfortable position to progress to the semi final of the seven team tournament, which serves as qualifiers for the Africa U17 cup of Nations.
