Bournemouth suffered a 3-1 defeat by Serie A side Atalanta at the Vitality Stadium in their third pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola opted for a strong team with new signings Justin Kluivert and Milos Kerkez both given starts.
But the Premier League side fell behind in the seventh minute when Danish striker Joakim Maehle finished from close-range.
Atalanta doubled their lead in the 36th minute, with Teun Koopmeiners flicking the ball past Neto after being teed up by Ademola Lookman.
Bournemouth then cut the deficit to one goal with an instant reply two minutes later as defender Marcos Senesi slammed the ball home after Dominic Solanke’s header was cleared off the line.

The second-half saw a number of changes made by both sides, with Atalanta Gian Piero Gasperini using nine subs.
However, Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund was unused and remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.
United made an opening offer on Wednesday of £42.8million plus a further £8.5million in add-ons for Hojlund, with Atalanta demanding over £60million.
Atalanta restored their two-goal lead four minutes before time through Emmanuel Latte Lath’s half volley after Bournemouth failed to clear their lines from a deep free-kick.
The Cherries will return to action against Ligue 1 side Lorient next weekend before hosting West Ham in the Premier League in a fortnight.
