President Mohammadu Buhari has appointed Mr Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, as the interim administrator of the commission.

The special adviser on media and publicity to the President, Garba Shehu made this known in a post on his Twitter account, Saturday night.

Shehu said Akwa is to resume headship of the agency until completion of the ongoing forensic audit.

“President Buhari has approved an interim administrator for the NDDC.

“He is Mr Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission.

“Mr Akwa is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

“The development became necessary as a result of a plethora of litigation and a restraining order issued recently against the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

“He is expected to assume headship till completion of the forensic audit,” he said.
