Buhari Suspends Walter Onnoghen, Swears In Ibrahim Tanko As Acting CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has suspending the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen and appointed Justice Ibrahim Tanko as his replacement, in acting capacity.

According to The Guardian, Buhari acted based on an order by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Onnoghen is on trial at the CCT for allegedly failing to declare some of his assets when he became the CJN.
