Rangers head coach, Abdullahi Maikaba, believes cash incentive by Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Manfred Nzekwe, motivated his players to beat Wikki Tourists on Sunday.

He promised the players a bonus of N200,000 each if they beat the Bauchi Elephants.

The Flying Antelopes defeated their guests Wikki Tourist 3-0 at the Akwa City Stadium to guarantee their safety in the NPFL.

Maikaba admitted that despite the resistance of the Bauchi Elephants, his players fought hard to achieve the result.

“It was a good game and a good result that we worked for even as we can’t take away the effect of the promise of cash reward by the Youth & Sports Commissioner on the players,” he told the club’s media.

“Our opponent showed resistance but we wanted the result more and pushed for it and got it.”
