CHAN 2024: Finidi Heads Super Eagles B Technical Crew For Qualifiers In September

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is contemplating handing the role of the coach of the B team of the senior national team of Nigeria to the coach of Enyimba Finidi George, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Former coach of the team Salisu Yusuf was fired after the failure of the team to make it to the last edition of the tournament which took place in Algeria. The Super Eagles B last qualified for the CHAN in 2018 in Morocco where they got to the final before losing 4-0 to the hosts. They have played in only three editions of the seven held.

Finidi who won the Nigeria Professional Football League title with Enyimba last season will be handed the reign in addition to his role as one of the assistants of coach of the main team Jose Peseiro.

The African soccer governing had initially scheduled the qualifier to commence in July with the first round of the qualifier set to go down.

But the football body announced two days ago that the first round of the qualifier will now resume in September this year.
