Nigeria international wing forward Samuel Chukwueze picked up the man of the match award after an impressive showing for Villarreal in their 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League semi final.

Chukwueze set up the first goal for Villarreal in the 5th minute when he tees up Manu Trigueros for the opening goal of the game before Raul Albiol made it 2-0 to the home side.

Nicolas Pepe pulled a goal back for Arsenal in the 73rd minute via the spot to set up what will be a very interesting second leg tie at the Emirates. Both teams ended the game with ten men on the pitch.

Arsenal had Dani Ceballos sent off for two bookings while Villarreal lost Etienne Capoue via same accumulated bookings with ten minutes left to play.

After the game, Chukwueze who was lively all through and caused the Arsenal defence all sort of trouble picked up the man of the match award.

The game ended his run of scoring in three consecutive games but he will nonetheless be pleased with his contribution to the win.
