Chukwueze injured, may be out for one month

Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, is set to be sidelined from a number of AC Milan matches after picking up left hamstring injury while on national duty.

The Italian football club revealed in a statement on Wednesday that the 24-year-old winger could miss a month of action.

“Samuel Chukwueze is already back at Milanello: the Nigerian suffered a left hamstring injury while away on international duty,” the Serie A leaders revealed on its official website.

The club  did not indicate the length of time  Chukwueze will be absent on the pitch, but the Italian press has suggested the player will be out for at least a month.

Recall that Chukwueze joined Milan this summer from Villarreal. The 24-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions this season. Milan face third-placed Juventus on Sunday in a league match.

The player’s latest injury makes him the second Super Eagles star in treatment after his colleague, Victor Osimhen, sustained an injury during the Super Eagles friendly against Saudi Arabia, and was forced to undergo an MRI scan.

The Eagles played two friendlies back to back against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique,pulling a 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia and beating the Mambas of Mozambique 3-2 to extend their winning over Mambas to four out of five meetings.
