Côte d’Ivoire Beat Ghana, Sends Nigeria Through To Semi Final Of WAFU U17

The U17 team of Nigeria are through to the semi final of the ongoing WAFU U17 tournament in Togo which is the qualifiers for the U17 Cup of Nations.

Nigeria pull through despite losing one and drawing their other game with Côte d’Ivoire who defeated them 1-0 beating Ghana by 3-1. Ghana drew 1-1 with Nigeria.

The 1-3 loss keeps Ghana rooted to the bottom of the group with one point and minus two goal difference while Nigeria finished with same points but a goal difference of -1.

Burkina Faso will be Nigeria’s opponent in the semi final as they finished top of group A while Ivory Coast will take on Niger Republic following the disqualification of host nation Togo for having two players who failed the mandatory MRI Test.

The top two teams will qualify for the U17 Cup of Nations which will take place in Morocco.
