Head coach of English Premier League side Crystal Palace Roy Hodgson is keen on bolstering his team before the close of the summer transfer window, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Hodgson has a list of players he hopes to add to his team with the void created by the exit of Cote d’Ivoire forward Wilfred Zaha, who joined Turkish side Galatasaray on a free transfer.
The need for a wide forward can’t be overstated and among their shortlist is out of favor Nigeria international forward Emmanuel Dennis, who has been told he is surplus to requirements at fellow English Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
Forest are open to allowing Dennis leave the team but will prefer a permanent deal to recoup the fee they paid for him and also make allowances on their wage bill for the season. Palace are weighing up a move for the forward, who caused a huge splash with 11 goals in his debut season in the English Premier League for Watford.
Last season he failed to hit the same height for his new team, but Hodgson is a long term admirer of the 25 year old but he has concerns over the character of the player, with reports that he can be a disruptive influence in the dressing room.
Any deal according to TalkSport will be hinged on the forward agreeing to a clause that will see him lose significant percentage of his wage if he is found guilty of any act of indiscipline. The situation also means they will prefer a loan deal with the option of making the deal permanent.
