Super Sports football analyst and pastor, Idah Peterside has revealed that Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has been receiving threatening messages from South Africans.

They have threatened him not to return to South Africa following their loss to Nigeria during the semi-final clash.

Though the talented footballer had sent a heartwarming message to the South Africans after the match, they in return have asked him not to return to his home in South Africa.

Peterside had disclosed this during an interview with Channels TV while giving an update regarding the condition of the nation.

He said;

“The biggest problem we’ve had, we’ve just gotten some messages, were people have sent messages to the goalkeeper threatening him. I hear some people are telling him don’t come back to South Africa, since you didn’t want us to score as payback when your team is playing. We’ve not heard of any violence but just threat.”

Although Nwabali is yet to speak regarding these claims, Nigerians have reacted and trooped to the comment section to share their opinions.

Below are some of the comments,
