Golden Eaglets coach, Fatai Amoo, has warned football pundits not to crucify his wards after the 1-1 draw to their Ghanaian counterparts.

Instead, the coach praised the team even though they are on the verge of elimination from the Under-17 AFCON qualifying tournament in Togo.

“Even in the draw, I am delighted that my boys showed they can really play given the opportunity,” Amoo was quoted by scorenigeria.

“Sincerely speaking, we had the upper hand when it came to creating chances in this game (vs Ghana).

“Immediately we started the game we really showed we wanted to win the game and I think if we had won this game, it would not have been a fluke or by luck, it would have been through the effort the boys put up in this very match.”

Saturday’s draw means the Eaglets will only know their fate on Tuesday when Cote d’Ivoire tackle Ghana in a final Group B match.

A big win for the Ivorians will lift the Eaglets to the semifinals of the competition.
