Edo: What will happen on election day – Police

The Police has warned that anyone found wanting during the Edo governorship poll would face the full wrath of the law.

Johnson Kokumo, the Commissioner of Police gave the warning on Wednesday during a visit to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II.

NAN reports that he briefed the traditional ruler on preparations for the September 19 election.

The CP assured that adequate security would be provided before, during and after the election.

Admitting that there was tension, the senior officer said measures have been taken to forestall violence.

Kokumo disclosed that the police was collaborating with other security agencies to ensure a smooth exercise.

In his remarks, the monarch advised youths not to allow themselves to be used as thugs by politicians.
