Borrusia Dortmund were cruising to a hard earned 1-0 win which would have ended the unbeaten run of Bayer Leverkusen but with 11 minutes remaining Victor Boniface struck.
A 5th minute goal from Julian Ryerson saw Dortmund take a shock lead stunning the vocal home crowd into silence. A lead that they hung onto till 11 minutes from full time.
With a first league defeat starring in front of their fans, Boniface who was on a goal drought before scoring in midweek against BK Hacken in the Europa League struck with his eighth goal of the season.
It preserves his team’s unbeaten start and also ensured that they stay top of the table with 35 points, four more than Bayern Munich who were not in action due to poor weather.
For Boniface, it has been a really good start to his time at the club he joined in the summer from Belgium side Union Saint-Gilloise after emerging as the joint top scorer in the Europa League last season.
