The visit to Chelsea’s dressing room by club’s owners Todd Boehly and co has not gone down well with the players.

The American was said to have singled out one of his underperforming players during his intense speech to the players after their defeat to Brighton on Saturday.

They fell 2-1 to the Seagulls, being their 12th loss of the season which placed them 11th in the Premier League table.

Boehly visited the Blues’ changing room alongside fellow co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Hasjorg Wyss.

He branded their current situation as “embarrassing,” in a speech meant to fire up the players before their Champions League quarter-final return leg against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

But his objective may have failed as The Guardian reported that one player was left disillusioned after the American singled him out and heavily criticised him.

The player, who has not yet been mentioned, is reportedly a senior player signed for a large fee by the new ownership in the past 12 months.
