EPL: Gary Neville questions Potter’s decision on new signing

Former Premier League star, Gary Neville has reacted to Graham Potter’s sub off of Mykhailo Mudryk early in their 0-0 draw with Fulham in Premier League on Friday night.

The manager had said that the Ukrainian international suffered from a cold during Chelsea’s goalless draw against Fulham on Friday night.

Chelsea paid the sum of £89 million to bring the 22-year-old from Shakhtar Donetsk last month.

He gave an electric display in his debut game for the Blues against Liverpool last month.

But he was rather less effective in his full debut against Fulham and was withdrawn at the break.

Neville questioned the decision to sub off Mudryk, insisting such decisions could affect the player’s confidence.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “They’ve got so many options. Mudryk is £80m odd, he’s had a pretty poor first half let’s be clear, but he’s off!

“Maybe Mudryk has actually got an injury we don’t know yet.

“It’s interesting. Would he hook him at half-time? An £80m signing? I can’t think he would, but if he has it’s a brave one. It certainly won’t help the confidence of the new signing.”
