Chelsea midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, has hailed teammate, Edouard Mendy, as a ‘world-class’ player following his impressive display in the Blues’ Premier League 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend.
Mendy produced a Man-of-the-Match display as Chelsea defeated Brentford in an away Premier League tie, thanks to Ben Chilwell’s only goal of the encounter.
Speaking after the match, Loftus-Cheek said at his post-match press conference: “Eddie in goal, (laughs) he’s saved us a few times, but that’s what these top keepers do, the guy is world-class.
“On another day, we come away with a few more goals, but three points is the most important thing.”
Mendy will hope to continue his impressive display for Thomas Tuchel’s side when they host Malmo in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Senegalese international joined Chelsea from Rennes last year under Frank Lampard’s reign.
