EPL: Not good enough – Gary Neville names team that won’t challenge for title

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has said Tottenham Hotspur don’t have the squad to challenge for the Premier League title.

Neville was speaking after Spurs beat Crystal Palace 2-0 on Friday night.

The result took Ange Postecoglou’s men five points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal at the top.

Neville believes things will “settle down” as the season progresses.

“I don’t think they are [potential league winners or title challengers]. I honestly don’t think they are.

“I think this is something that will settle down in the next few months, but if some teams aren’t quite there and Tottenham are out of Europe, not in the Carabao Cup. They’ve got free weeks.

“If they’re in contention in January, then why wouldn’t they try and just boost the squad slightly and have a go at it because if (Man) City aren’t quite there or there’s some sort of slip-up from Arsenal – those teams are obviously both in Europe,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
