Former Manchester United star, Jaap Stam has told winger Antony that he must ‘step up a gear’ next season.
Antony joined Man United from Ajax last summer for an initial £82million.
His first season with the Red Devils was certainly not a disaster, but neither was it a stunning success as he scored eight goals in his 44 appearances across all competitions for Erik ten Hag’s side.
However, Stam wants the Brazilian international to prove his worth in the 2023/24 season.
“You know Antony’s got quality, of course, on the ball.
“He’s got a decent pace, even if he is not lightning. He needs to become, and I know we were talking about being predictable in a way of playing, then he needs to step up a gear to make a change,” Stam told Man United’s official website.
