Feyenoord free scoring striker Cyriel Dessers isn’t thinking of dumping Nigeria for Belgium despite reported interest in him from Belgium owing to his form in the Europa Conference League.

Dessers hit a brace yesterday to help Feyenoord to a 3-2 win over Marseille in the semi final of Europe’s third tier tournament to take his goal count to ten goals in eleven games in the tournament.

Out on loan from Genk, the 27 year old is still eligible to represent Belgium as he only played in a friendly game for Nigeria in 2020. Reports in Belgium has it that his form hasn’t gone unnoticed by the handlers of the Belgium national team but he isn’t open to the idea according to his representative.

” For Dessers, it’s the Super Eagles and nothing else matters. He was sad he missed the Africa Cup of Nations but that hasn’t changed his love and desire to play for Nigeria. The dream is to be a part of the rebuild of the Super Eagles”, his representative told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

” He understands that the country is blessed with several options in attack but he wants a chance to compete. A fair chance is not too much to ask”, he concluded.
