Former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has given an idea to the present head coach of the team Jose Peseiro on how to get a result against the host country of the Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast, when both teams meet tomorrow.

Nigeria will be aiming to get back to winning ways after a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in their opening game, while the host will be looking to cement a spot in the last 16 if they are able to get a win against the Super Eagles.

Rohr who took the team to a bronze medal finish at the 2019 AFCON showed he still has soft spot for his former side by tipping them to get one past the star studded Ivorian side.

Speaking ahead of the game, Rohr said the offensive strength of the Super Eagles is one that makes them a threat to any team in the world, hence the emphasis should be on defending more as a unit.

” When you have very good players upfront. The work now goes back to how well you can defend, so you won’t  put much pressure on the attack”,  he was quoted to have said to the media in France, where he is a pundit for the tournament.
