Nigeria international forward Paul Onuachu will join French Ligue 1 side Lyon after they agreed a fee for his transfer with Genk, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

We gathered a fee was agreed between both parties last night with Genk accepting an offer thought to be in the region of €20 million for the Nigeria international who has scored 19 goals in 19 league games this season. The move will free up space for their summer signing Cyriel Dessers to thrive.

26 year old Onuachu will sign a five year deal at the club if he passes a routine medical schedule to take place later today before his unveiling as a player of the Ligue 1 side.

Lyon are light in attack following the departure of Moussa Dembele to Atletico Madrid and despite the arrival of Islam Slimani from Leicester City, Onuachu is seen as a long term project of the Ligue 1 side.
