Captain of the 2019 Nigeria U17 team Samson Tijani has been called up to the Super Eagles squad for their next set of friendly games against Tunisia and Ivory Coast respectively, thedabigal can exclusively reveal.

Tijani is on loan to TSV Hartberg from fellow Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, the team he joined after impressing for Nigeria at the U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has been impressed with his performances in the three games he has played so far, the last of which was the 2-3 Europa League loss to Polish side Piast Gliwice last night.

His inclusion in the list came as a shock to many but it is believed that Rohr sees him as a part of his project for the 2022 World Cup hence his decision to include him in the list.

The list of players called up for the game will be made public on Monday. Owngoalnigeria.com erroneously reported that it will be released yesterday. We deeply regret the error.
