Boxing fans have been informed that the much-anticipated unification fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury would not come cheap.

There was jubilation when news broke last week claiming a deal had finally been agreed.

According to World Boxing News, that amount could be doubled for Joshua vs Fury to £49.95.

Before now, the price for pay-per-view fights in England was always set at £19.99 on both Sky Sports and – more recently – BT Sport.

In the meantime, both Sky Sports and BT Sport are currently considering a figure between £29.95 and £49.95.

That figure was increased to £24.95 by Sky Sports for Joshua’s much-anticipated rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia back in December.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn stated that the two heavyweight champions had agreed on the split two fights in 2021, with Fury later confirming the news on his official social media channels.
