Anglo-Nigerian Jamal Musiala broke Bayern Munich’s record by becoming the club’s youngest ever player to appear in the Bundesliga after he made his first appearance against SC Freiburg.

He was introduced with two minutes remaining in the 3-1 win over Freiburg in what was his first game for the club who are already crowned champions of the German Bundesliga for the eighth consecutive time.

The 17 year old is born to a Nigeria father and German mother in Germany but moved with his family to England at age 7. He trained with the Nigeria Under-17 team in 2017 but was forced to return by Chelsea as he came without permission.

The Bavarians snapped up the attacking midfielder from Chelsea’s Academy and he scored his first two goals for the Germans side playing for their Reserve side in the Geman Third League at the beginning of June.

Musiala is still eligible to represent Nigeria although he has represented England at the youth level.
