Maisie Williams is currently one of the most popular and loved actors in the world. She plays Arya Stark, in HBO‘s hit show Game of Thrones where she made her professional debut in 2011.
She’s also an entrepreneur, and an activist. Yet to this day, she has no formal qualifications to her name. Her career has been built upon a symphony of seemingly normal opportunities that evolved into extraordinary, life changing events.
At TEDxManchester earlier this year, Maisie tells the story of working on what ended up becoming the biggest television show of all time from the age of 12.
She spoke about how, at age 10, she told her mum she wanted to stop schooling, how she got into stage school, how dancing was what she wanted to become, and how she got the GOT role.
She discusses why she thinks right now is the perfect time to build tools for communities and how her platform, Daisie, will redefine creative collaboration.
Daisie is a social media platform aimed at creative people in the world of arts, fashion, tv, film, photography, music, and literature. The aim of the app is to bring individuals from across industries together, to help foster collaborations with other artists and provide an alternative route into creative industries.
Don’t strive to be famous, strive to be talented, she advises.
