La Liga side Getafe have failed with a bid of €16 million for Almeria Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar who is also wanted by fellow rivals Sevilla.

Sadiq has emerged as target for several top flight teams in Spain after excelling for Almeria in their failed bid to gain promotion to the La Liga. He scored 22 goals in all competitions in 41 games.

Almeria are open to selling him for a fee lesser than his buyout clause of €60 million but they are only going to do business if a bid in the region of €20 million and add ons is tabled. A fee which will still make him the most expensive sale by the club.

Sevilla still remains the preferred option of the lanky 24 year old striker but they haven’t firm their interest with a bid despite the player’s willingness to be reunited with Monchi, the club’s Sporting Director whom he worked with at Roma.

For now there is no news about Getafe returning with an improved offer. Almeria will not mind keeping the 24 year old if they don’t receive any offer deemed substantial for him.
