Matteo Guendouzi will complete a transfer to Marseille, after having a medical with the Ligue 1 club, the UK Mirror reports.

The French midfielder said his goodbyes to Hertha Berlin, where he spent last season on loan, on Instagram on Monday morning.

Guendouzi then announced his Arsenal in a separate post.

The player came to blows with Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta, during a training camp in Dubai, which cost him his place in the first team.

The 22-year-old was also involved in an incident against Brighton in July 2020, when he grabbed Maupay by the throat briefly, but referee Martin Atkinson took no action.

Guendouzi joined Arsenal in 2018 from French Ligue 2 side Lorient after an impressive season. His was reportedly signed for €8m (£7m/$9.4m) plus bonuses.
