Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has hit out at Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for his celebration after his team’s equaliser against Liverpool in Saturday’s Premier League tie.
After Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead in the 17th minute, Julian Alvarez restored parity seven minutes later.
Guardiola was visibly happy as his team got back to level terms.
The City boss proceeded to celebrate by getting in the face of Liverpool substitute Kostas Tsimikas.
And Ferdinand, who was not happy with Guardiola’s behaviour, said the Spaniard couldn’t contain himself, adding that Tsimikas should have pushed him to the ground.
Speaking on BT Sport, Ferdinand said, “That celebration there, “I don’t know how Tsimikas has not pushed him out of the way there! He [Guardiola] seems happy. … he could not contain himself.”
