Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen was very unhappy with the decision of the coach of Napoli Rudi Garcia to sub him off during the course of their 0-0 draw against Bologna in the Italian Serie A.
Osimhen was subbed off in the 86th minute for Giovanni Simeone, fourteen minutes after he missed the chance of putting his team in the lead, when he missed from the spot. It was also a chance for the 25 year old to add to his tally of three goals in the opening five games of their title defence.
With the team yet to really hit the ground running under new coach Garcia, who replaced Luciano Spalletti at the end of last season the spotlight has been heavy on the angry outburst of the Nigerian following his substitution.
” Osimhen is not new to this type of attitude, but also tactical suggestions at the time of his substitution means that their is absolutely no respect for the roles and this is a worrying thing”, Sky journalist Massimo Ugolini said.
” Osimhen also sent Spalletti to hell but never discussed the tactical aspects. There has already been a face to face meeting between the player and the coach . Now we expect more from everyone”, he concluded.
